Project Description

The proposed Coille Linne Wind Farm is located approximately 21.9km north of Lairg and 16km south-east of Altnaharra. The project comprises up to 15 turbines, 250m in height. The development will be above 50MW in capacity and therefore qualifies as a Section 36 project (under the Electricity Act 1989).

Energiekontor have now submitted the applicaiton to the Energy Consents Unit for consideration.

Application

Following the completion of the EIA Report, Energiekontor UK Ltd submitted an application to the Energy Consents Unit of the Scottish Government (the responsible authority for all wind farms above 50MW) in June 2025 to install and operate a wind farm comprising 15 turbines.
Determination is currently underway, involving all relevant stakeholders. The application documentation relating to the above proposal is available to view on the ECU website at www.energyconsents.scot by:– clicking on the Search tab; then,
  • clicking on the Simple Search tab then typing Coille Linne into the Search by Project Name box then clicking Go; then,
  • clicking on ECU00005163 and then clicking on the Documents tab then clicking the Application Documents tab.
