Project Description

Energiekontor submitted an application to the Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit (ECU) under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 which seeks consent to construct and operate a wind farm on land approximately 2km east of Cairnryan in Dumfries and Galloway. The proposed wind farm has a generating capacity of around 99 MW, comprising 15 wind turbines with a ground to blade tip height of between 200 and 230 metres and associated infrastructure.

Additional Information

In relation to the application submitted by Energiekontor UK Limited on 26 January 2022 for consent under section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 to construct and operate the Mid Moile Wind Farm located approximately 2km east of Cairnryan within the planning authority area of Dumfries and Galloway Council, Additional Information has been submitted to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit.  This Additional Information relates to a partial redesign relating to landscape and visual, cultural heritage and hydrology effects. The Additional Information documents are available for viewing below.

Copies of the additional information and the application are available for public inspection in person, free of charge, during normal office hours at Dumfries and Galloway Council, English Street, Dumfries, DG1 2DD.

The additional information can also be viewed on the Scottish Governments Energy Consents Unit (“ECU”) website at www.energyconsents.scot under application reference ECU00003405. The ECU will be initiating the mandatory consultation which is required when Additional Information is submitted.

In relation to the application submitted by Energiekontor UK Limited on 26 January 2022 for consent under section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 to construct and operate the Mid Moile Wind Farm located approximately 2km east of Cairnryan within the planning authority area of Dumfries and Galloway Council, Additional Information has been submitted to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit.  This Additional Information relates to further information to address consultee comments relating to peat.  Additional information is also provided for an alternative layout comprising 14 turbines with a tip height of 200m. The Additional Information documents are available on this page for viewing.
