Planning Application History

Planning permission was granted for Fell Wind Farm at appeal on 2 November 2021 (references
20/0148/FUL and PPA-170-2146). The consented wind farm comprised of 9 wind turbines, 7 of which with tip heights of up to 200m and 2 of which with tip heights up to 180m, together
with associated infrastructure.

An application, made under section 42 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997,
was submitted in March 2022 (22/0471/S42), appealed in August 2022 (PPA-270-2163) and
granted on 10 March 2023. The variation application sought to vary condition 1 to allow an
increase in the consented tip height of turbine 2.

The latest applications were submitted on March and April 2025 and consented on 29th September 2025 to vary conditions 2 and 13 of planning permission 22/0471/S42 (PPA-270-2163) to allow adjustment of infrastructure outwith the consented 100m micrositing allowance, to create a new site entrance, to change the crane pad configuration, to remove Turbine 3 and to increase the consented tip heights of the remaining 8 turbines to 220m.

Public Engagement

EnergieKontor has undertaken a range of public consultation activities prior to the submission of the planning application. This has included a public exhibition and meetings and discussions with local Community Councils.
