The Windy Edge wind farm proposal is located approximately 15km south of Hawick and 2.5km north west of Hermitage in the Scottish Borders. The proposal is for the development of up to 11 wind turbines each up to 200m in height to blade tip and associated infrastructure. The Proposed Development would be operational for a 35 year period, after which the turbine components would be removed and the site restored.
A scoping request was submitted to the Energy Consents Unit in 2021 for an initial layout based on 12 turbines.
Energiekontor UK Ltd gives notice that it intends to submit a planning application for a wind farm development at Windy Edge consisting of up to eleven turbines. The site is located on land within the community council area of Upper Liddesdale and Hermitage.
Further information on the proposal will be available at a public exhibition being held at Hermitage Hall on Wednesday 17th July 2024 from 3:00pm to 6:30pm.
Any person wishing to make comments on the proposal or obtain further information may do so by contacting eliza.tyrrel@energiekontor.com by 31st July 2024.
